Introduction to Faulkner and Faulkner's South

Faulkner was a very private man. At the beginning of his career he was able to stay quiet for a while but as his fame grew many people tried to creep up into his life. I find it interesting how Faulkner detested fame and how due to his wishes to become private more people pried their way in. Also, another interesting fact is that the personal details of his life being exposed can be said to be one of the driving factors of sending him to a hospital for rehab. wow, he must really hate the spotlight.

Faulkner was a man who loved his roots, meaning the south. He wrote his characters based off of the people he knew.

He believed that the past is never dead and because of this I think it influences all of his books. Faulkner is an interesting man because he was able to confront racial injustices in a world that was full of racism.

Faulkner was able to made money by selling his movies to adapt into films which is an interesting way to earn money because it wasn't necessarily off his books.

Many publishers didn't support Faulkner's writing at first because of how different it was but with persistence he became one of the best writers.
